The Challenge
As part of a government agency’s innovation roadmap to enhance developer productivity and efficiency, TL Consulting was engaged to lead the GitHub Copilot adoption program. The initiative aimed to streamline development workflows, reduce cognitive load, and accelerate code delivery, while fostering a strong community of practice for long-term adoption and continuous improvement.
A series of targeted training workshops were delivered, tailored to key personas including Software Developers, Cloud Platform & DevOps Engineers, and Data Engineers. At the outset, 64% of participants identified as beginners and 36% as intermediate users, with 0 developers claiming proficiency. This underscored the opportunity for significant efficiency gains through skill development and hands-on enablement, ensuring teams could maximise the benefits of AI-powered coding assistance.
